District – still trying to resolve the latentcy issue with Chrome browser timing out (my class with “https://pythonroom.com/book/learn”, Nancy Wilson with “https://calendar.google.com/calendar/render?tab=mc”, Lee Ann with “http://sde.ok.gov/sde/”). I asked Nancy to use Firefox to post a couple of calendar entries and it seemed to work okay. Sent a message to Lee Ann to do the same. I checked the connection speed and got 99% faster than most of the US.

Shelly McGehee— reported a computer not connecting. I inquired what changed when it stopped connecting.

Ramona Bunch – requested help with Fitness Gram. This has been an on-going issue for a long time. The State of Oklahoma recently got a new vendor for the program and I called them today (Cooper Institute in Texas) and spoke to Geogegina Vint who helped me get logged in as an administrator for the program. I added Kim Wilson, Ramona Bunch, Kandice Lowry, and Teresa Montegue as administrators. I hope to get more information later, but we need to import students, classes, and teachers as a CSV file. This will take some assistance to export the data from Wengage. I could not find a template file for the content and order of the data.

E-Rate – I sent another request to Peder Angvall regarding the RMA for the broke AP that I believe he has already returned.

Jan Mullins – installed “Instructional Presentations” using a flash drive (MacBook Air has no optical drive and couldn’t connect to my archive server) 

Stefanie Baldwin – reported problem with new SmartBoard projector. The SmartBoard itself wasn’t connecting reliably. Called tech support at Pro Presenters, but resolved connection issue while on hold (USB connection at computer – pulled out and reconnected). She had been restarting to resolve, but I should her how the USB connection in the computer could be unplugged and plugged in again. This seemed to be the source of the problem there. Additionally, her projector was no longer in “ceiling front” mode and the Flash Player wasn’t displaying the whole page. We corrected the menu settings on the projector while on the phone with Pro Presenters. The Flash Player problem seems intermittent. When I started Flash Player again it worked okay, I really didn’t change anything and all available updates had already been applied.

Nancy Wilson – reported an issue with connection delays with the Google Calendar timing out. I had noticed this problem myself with “Pythonroom” when the kids ran code with an infinite loop, but have also had reports of the problem with other web sites that have server-side activitiy. I called OneNet and opened ticket #22313 where we discussed trying another browser (we all use Chrome now), how our web filter (firewall) doesn’t have any custom policies that could be causing the problem, and that we should check to see that our DNS servers are using well known public DNS authorites. Will consult with Peder Angvall next.

Marie Prewett – requested printer setup on new MacBook Air. Got the HP LJ401 on her desk working with USB and WIFI, but could not get Canon IR5050 copier to work (this has been a problem since September). Will submit help request to Canon and Miller Office (Canon refers me to local retailer for support). 

Mary Johnon – requested help printing in Elementary building.
