Google Apps – archived the Google Tips of the Week emails into a blog under Administration → Technology → Tips and Tricks
eRate – visited with Andy Gower regarding eRate committment on Category 2 funds. We sent an acceptance message to Mai Fields on this Category with an install date of November, but in a later telephone conversation she said she would enter September 2016 and that would give us until September 2017 to install.
Staff Development – visited with Kim Wilson regarding the various goals teachers may have for the online lesson plan tool that may not fall within the design constraints. Will look to help from Gabbart regarding lesson plan training and questions.

Kenny Moore – used Migration Assistant to copy his MacBook (dead battery) to another with somewhat better battery condition.

Emily Fixico – yesterday evening I started the process of creating a local account for Emily, but completed the process after school today.
Andrea Sewell – had previously contacted me about locating her Smart Notebook software. I had directed her to Finder → Go → Applications in order to drag it back to her Dock. Today I emailed her to check and see it that worked for her.

Kenny Moore – reported that, not only is his MacBook Pro battery dead, but now it powers off about three times a day. I’m checking with Mr. Gower on the status of our PO to purchase more laptops.
Emily Fixico – requested help with moving to local account from network account.
eRate – received committment letter for Category 2 funding. Sent amounts to vendor for verification. Sent notification to Mr. Gower for required signature.
eRate – began RFP Questionaire for 2017-18
Bridget Campbell – requested name change with her email. I explained that she would have to notify everyone she corresponds with of the change and asked if she wanted to proceed.
ATT – received answer to funding delay question for 200 Mb circuit. Angela at ATT resonded, “I believe that you should advise ONENET of this and they should be able to help you. We are just waiting for instructions from them of when to activate.”
OneNet – received answer to funding delay question for 200 Mb circuit. Angela at OneNet responded, “We will continue with the upgrade since the circuit is already ordered and when it is ready we will just rate limit it to your current speed until you are ready for the upgrade so you are still in compliance with Erate.”
DNI – sent committment amounts to Peder Angvall to confirm that they cover our project.
Scanners – I met with Janet Yott, Debbie Watters, and Kerry Sharp this morning and demonstrated how to use Preview with the scanners.
Debbie Garner – showed Debbie the scanner procedure.
eRate – wrote to Jane Kellogg and expressed concern over how late we are getting committment letters from Universal Services this year. She and Mai relpied that our Category 2 funding (internal connections) would be approved and we are just waiting on the letter. The C2 amount is not yet clear so we should wait for the letter before asking vendors to move forward. The Category 1 funding is still in review. In conclusion, we should contact AT&T and OneNet and request additional delay before upgradinging our bandwidth. I will sent inquiry emails to AT&T and OneNet.
DNI – wrote to Peder Angval at DNI and started the scheduling process for network upgrade by contacting Mr. Gower who requested that we try to avoid Oct. 1 and a couple of days prior for outage. Peder said he would check his schedule.

Kenny Moore – requested access to student passwords. Shared Student List doc with him.
Karis Reavis – inquired about using iPads with OdysseyWare. I didn’t know answer, told him to try and see what happens. The technical requirements posted on the OdysseyWare web site indicates that they do not support iOS.
Faculty – sent message to all faculty to see who needs scanners. I have a few in my lab that we don’t use anymore and I’m not likely to use them in the future so it would be good to distribute them to other faculty. I’m a little worried about the additional time that will be required to support them.
Scanners – distributed some older scanners from my classroom to Mrs. Yott in Kindergarten, Kerry Sharp in Elementary special ed, and Karla Davis in the middle school. It took me a while to realize that there are no drivers necessary anymore since Preview can now “Import from Scanner”. I sent an email message out to faculty describing where the scanners are and how to use Preview to scan images and PDFs.
