Wednesday (September 28, 2016) – didn't have time to record request entries on Wednesday
Beasley – finally received a reply from wiring vendor to discuss acceptance of bid.
OneNet – Had an interesting time trying to move the circuit over. At first, ATT had given the engineer data for another school’s circuit. Then we switched by had to change config in the internal router. This could have made a restart necessary so I delayed until after school. At 3:15 we completed the move to the new circuit and performed a speed test. The connection was pretty bad all day because of a duplexing issue, but after school it was very robust.
District – finished printing the programs for Band Day and delivered them to Kasey Patterson
Roberta Brake – sent me a notification from WenGage that an update for the cafeteria app requires MicroSoft .Net Framework 4.5 or higher. Verified on her computer.
Kerry Sharp – had reported problems scanning, I checked the scanner, Preview, and sent sample low and hi-res documents to show Marie and Kerry that it was working. Came back when Kerry was available and had her do a scan and upload to the special ed site. All worked.
Beasley – contacted vendor for E-Rate wiring project. They are sending me a quote and I’ll take it to Mr. Gower. They say that their work is scheduled about 3 weeks out. Update (12:34): still waiting on quotation.
network – send email to faculty, admin, and secretaries about the slow connection yesterday and showed them the current bandwidth performance (which is blazingly fast)
E-Rate – forwarded (and hand delivered) the OUSF affidavit to Mr. Gower for completion. Called Kellogg and confirmed that we are paying for OUSF consulting services so they will complete this affidavit for us. I forwarded the form to them.
Huckleberry – student AR reports were printing to High School. Deleted and installed printers on student computers to redirect printing to upper hall lab.
Lee Ann Duck – requested email address for an employee. I sent the credentials to her and verified that the account worked. The account and credentials were valid but the employee had never logged in (3 years).
website – placed news article about fastpitch regionals on website, Facebook, and Twitter.
Kasey Patterson – creating program for band day
RecTec – received a quotation for renewal of backup service with Carbonite. Completed a PO and sent to Mr. Gower.
OneNet – talked to tech support on telephone to plan circuit change to new demarcation at 3:30 pm today. Update: at 3:30 pm I was back in touch with Josh at OneNet and moved the patch cable from our prior (Cisco) demarc to the the new (Ciana) demarc. Unfortunately, he was unable to ping our router and so after about 30 minutes of various attempts he decided to go back to the old (Cisco) demarc and get in touch with ATT to see if they could verify testing. At this time we are back to our old circuit and waiting until tomorrow morning to try again. We also discussed renting a router from OneNet and turning the management over to them. Have not heard back from Kellogg on the paperwork and timelines for this option. Will write them again.
The attached chart from OneNet shows that a small school should provide at least a 100 Mbps circuit by 2017 and a 300 Mbps circuit by 2020. According to their recommendations, we are right on target. Our current 100 Mbps circuit will be upgraded to 200 Mbps as soon as we get a commitment letter from eRate.
OneNet – called to say our circuit was ready and we need to move the connection. He will call tommorrow morning at 8:30 to talk me through that switch.
website – still moving photos
Lorie Patterson – reported that her projector turns off frequently on the SmartBoard. Referred to ProPresenters.
Gearup iPad Cart – Lorie Patterson reported that some of the iPads in the Gearup cart were missing and the rest were not charged. I made sure the cart was plugged in and that all the iPads in the cart were connected. I also reported to Karis Reavis that there were originally 22 iPads in the cart and he said he would track the missing ones down.
website – continue to upload Camp Goddard pictures to the site. Also added a news feature article about parent/teacher conference day.
eRate – working on 2017-18 RFP Questionaire
eRate – wrote to Mai at Kellogg and Soverign to confirm for DNI that the new total circuit size on project planning to be 200 MBS. Visited with Andy Gower about having to omit the router in one of the project cuts and the impact this will have on bandwidth utilization.
Stefanie Baldwin – visited with her about the Camp Goddard page on the elementary school site.
Karis Reavis – visited with him about the structure in the high school section of the website.
Sean Walker – visited with him about the structure in the middle school section of the website. He advised that I still needed to add the vocational classes, which I then added.
Kim Wilson – visited with her about the structure in the elementary school section of the website. Then added art and music classes and a section for Camp Goddard.
