My Mac Won't Start Up

It sometimes happens that a Mac cannot be turned on after a power event such as a power surge or outage. The solution may require resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit). Try these steps:

  1. Unplug all the cables from the back of the computer (Power, Network, Keyboard/Mouse, Any other cables that may be connected)
  2. Hold down the power button for 15 seconds
  3. Reconnect all the cables
  4. Turn on the Computer

Be sure you unplug all the cables connected to the computer and that you hold the power button in for a full 15 seconds. If this step doesn’t work, then ask for tech support.
