Variable Types

We use two primary types of variables:

  • Numeric variables which store numbers. Examples are a, b, c, or age, average, total.
  • String variables which store other types of data such and names or dates. Examples are A$, B$, or FirstName$, Address$

Variables can only hold one value at a time unless they are defined as an array.

  • An example of a numeric array that can hold 10 values is price(3) which would be the third element in the array.
  • An example of a string array that could hole 4 values is name$(2) which would be the second element in the array.
